Thanks to Helen, our wedding ceremony was truly more than we could have ever hoped for, it was authentic, genuine and packed full of all the things that make us…well us. Now I know how incredible humanist ceremonies are, I wouldn’t have hesitated for a moment - initially we weren’t sure that we wanted to have to do the legal part of our wedding another time but looking back – that was madness!
Working with Helen was so much fun from start to finish, she guided us on how best to shape our ceremony, helped us to involve lots of friends and family which was important to us and prepared THE BEST ‘couple’s story’ which shared our adventure so far. She was funny but also incredibly kind and thoughtful during the ceremony. Our guests were blown away by how personal it all was, it was the perfect way to begin our wedding day celebrations!

Both Alan and I were rather unfamiliar with how Humanist Ceremonies work, but we knew we wanted a personal experience and very importantly, a ceremony officiated by someone who exudes love and a whole lot of positive energy. Helen’s profile stood out during our initial research and as soon as she returned our voicemail from her holiday, we knew we didn’t need to look any further. As we are not based in the UK, most of our interactions were over FaceTime or emails but the ceremony organization was probably the least stressful of all the wedding planning and that is all thanks to Helen! On the day, she was not just our celebrant, she was more a godsend (or should that be humanistsend) because as a bride I knew I had nothing to worry about with her in-charge downstairs (including making sure the groom behaved himself :) )!
Helen worked with Alan and me to help make our ceremony so special and personal to us, it’s a memory we will always remember fondly. Given our wedding was also an amalgamation of two very different cultures (read Indian and Northern Irish), she was forever enthusiastic and came up with her own ideas on how we could bring India to Northern Ireland. For us, a wedding is about love, happiness and celebration with our loved ones and Helen’s vibrant and positive personality brought all of that into our ceremony.

Helen is so personable, passionate, caring and went the extra mile to get to know us. She even came for a walk with us as she wanted to meet our dog, Maggie! It was through this that she was able to make our personalities shine throughout the ceremony. I have even had several of my friends and family ask for her details for their own ceremonies!

It’s so difficult to put into words how wonderful a Humanist ceremony actually is, and Helen was the perfect choice of Celebrant. From the moment we met Helen we just knew we wanted her to be part of our Wedding Day and we just felt like we had known her for years!
